Central Region of the Diocese of Lafayette

The Central Region of the Diocese of Lafayette includes all church parishes in Lafayette Civil Parish and upper St. Martin Civil Parish.  There are 31 church parishes and 4 mission churches in the Central Region, as well as 14 Catholic schools.

The Episcopal Vicar for the Central Region of the Diocese of Lafayette is Very Reverend Thomas James, SVD, VE.  In this capacity, Father James represents the Bishop in matters concerning the Central Region, its parishes and Catholic schools, hospitals, nursing homes, and other institutions and organizations.

Mary Bergeron serves as Executive Assistant to the Vicar of the Central Region.  This position supports the Office of the Vicar, acts as a liaison between the Central Region and the Diocesan Offices, supports the parishes and Catholic schools of the Central Region, and offers programs, events and ministries that help meet the needs of the Central Region.

Both the Episcopal Vicar and his Executive Assistant work to serve and respond to the needs of the people of God in the Central Region.
